Chimney evening with Federal Minister of Transport Andreas Scheuer on 18th December 2019
Even though the 45 participants did not sit at a chimney, the atmosphere at this year’s BMVI chimney evening was cosy and familiar. For some years now, the Federal Minister of Transport has been inviting the members of the LAG support association and members of the German Bundestag to an informal exchange of ideas and discussion. With no fixed agenda and no restrictions on specific topics, all guests were allowed to speak, make statements and ask questions to the Federal Minister Andreas Scheuer and the Parliamentary State Secretary and Coordinator of the Federal Government for Freight Transport and Logistics, Steffen Bilger (MP), who is also present. After short introductory statements by Federal Minister Andreas Scheuer and the Chairman of the Board of the LAG Support Association Mr. Marc Oedekoven, this opportunity was taken up a lot.
The participants’ questions revolved around central challenges facing the logistics industry. There was a varied dialogue between the participants of the fireside chat.
After almost two hours of discussion in a large circle, the participants used the opportunity for further informal talks in a relaxed atmosphere. Intensive further discussions and work continued until the official end of the event. Some of them even went to a nearby restaurant in order to continue their discussions and to establish new relationships.
